BUYTEC AS comes from the technology community in Kongsberg, Norway and was established in 2005 as a spin-off from BUYSEC AS, which has sold and delivered IT security solutions in the Norwegian market since 1994.
Smart cards have always been central to security solutions and BUYTEC has with this back¬ground built up a strong expertise and experience in ticketing and contactless smart card technology (RFID).
BUYTEC markets and sells the ticketing system (TopTix) and Smart Stadium solution (Fortress) based on RFID card technology to the Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Finnish markets.
TopTix ticketing solve the needs of soccer clubs, theaters, cinemas, museums, concert halls, sports clubs and venues have to ticket sales and customer service. The product is based on modern technology provides advanced solutions for ticket office, sales kiosks, administration, integrated telephony solutions, Internet and wireless services. Marketing, customer management and historical data is performed in an internally developed Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
The TopTix ticketing system is designed to address needs related to events in terms of size and complexity.
Ticket system modules are designed for open systems and platforms, is easy to configure and can be easily integrated with other applications used.
The unique technological solution to TopTix allocates seats and handles orders on-line regardless of which channel is used, ticket office, telephone system, sales kiosks, mobile phone or web-solution. The solution is designed so that seats can`t be double booked. All ticket types are supported, club tickets, season passes, membership cards etc.
The ticket system is integrated to BUYTEC - Smart Stadium RFID platform.

Digital Ticketing & Access Control Module:
A core Customer Access Control. This automates the ticket validation and access process for the fans. Often our work starts here simply because the ticket collection and stadium access process is the most public and sometimes frustrating element of the whole match day experience for fans . Smart Stadium has revolutionized this process and delivers fast easy stadium access. In stadiums with automatic turnstiles our “Tri-readers™” (a single reader that processes Barcode, RF tickets and RF smart cards) are attached to the existing turnstile unit, and controls the turnstile release. Fans simply let themselves into the stadium by presenting their tickets to the Fortress reader. Our access solution works with multiple ticket types – RFID Smart cards, RFID Paper tickets, Barcode tickets, Print @ Home & the latest NFC Mobile handsets. The Smart Stadium™ 3 tier access architecture is highly resilient and is designed to guarantee uninterrupted operations even in the event of server communications failure. It has proven itself in over 3500 games in some of the largest stadiums (100,000 +) and has never failed to deliver swift automated access. This is achieved largely through the unique way we use the card and our background as a Company in smart card chip design. By placing a large amount of data on the chip of the card (or encoded within the barcode of the ticket) we enable 98% of all access transactions to be validated between the card / ticket and the reader without the need to go online to our server. Server communication is thus predominantly for reporting.
The result is faster easier access, with more accuracy and less staff. For instance, Sport Teams such as Arsenal FC process over 1,550 people per minute through 90 turnstiles. Average throughput per turnstile can reach over 20 persons per minute (at peak flow). To put this into perspective – traditional access systems using handheld barcode scanner processes approximately 8 persons per minute at peak flow.
Smart Stadium is the market leading stadium and venue access control solution, used by FIFA in the World Cup 2010.
