Ravinia Festival, North America’s oldest music festival, chose TopTix’s advanced ticketing platform, SRO4, to manage its high-volume ticket sales this year.
Every summer, the festival attracts over 600,000 visitors to around 120 events across four venues. Advance tickets to 100 events go on sale on the same day in April and the festival routinely sells thousands of tickets in a matter of hours. This year’s acts included Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Santana, Harry Connick Jr., Seth MacFarlane, Little Big Town and Sheryl Crow as well as a variety of classical concerts including the annual summer residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Brian Stallings, President of TopTix, USA, led the planning phase: “We are honoured that Ravinia Festival has selected SRO4 and put their trust in our team to deliver a superior customer experience.”
Ravinia reviewed ticketing platforms in detail for two years before deciding on the SRO4 from TopTix.
“The reason we spent two years searching, evaluating and pressure-testing ticketing and CRM systems, before ultimately going with TopTix, is that we have so much at stake. We had to be certain that the ticketing system can handle literally tens of thousands of ticket transactions concurrently, as well as meet other customer-care service goals,” commented Jamie Laing, Director of Technology, Ravinia.
“We experienced such an outpouring of appreciation from our patrons that it was really quite gratifying,” reported Angus Watson, Director of Ticket Operations. “SRO4 is a very clever system and we’ve only just begun to tap into the wealth of conveniences it offers our customers and the efficiencies it offers our staff. I want to express my sincere thanks to the TopTix support team. They are really top notch.”
